Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
For many, the scripture above is what many have coined the term "seven spirits of God" from. The Spirit of God is one, the Holy Spirit, and He manifests in different dimensions. It is still the same spirit, but expression is diverse.
**1 Corinthians 12:4-5 -** There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit, There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.
The same Holy Spirit imparts knowledge in one and engages wisdom with another, among other things.
In that verse 2 of the 11th chapter of Isaiah, you'll notice the expressions are paired, and I'd like you to focus on the second pair: "The Spirit of Counsel and Might."
This expression is used in many other parts of the scripture, and I will show you some to establish the point of the pair.
Matthew 26:26-46.
Here is a story of Jesus asking his disciples to watch and pray with him, but instead, they slept. Jesus narrated their situation, saying, "Matthew 26: 41 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
This means just knowing you should pray is not enough; you should really be praying.
In the book of James 1:22 ***Be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.***
Evidently, we can see that it's a different working of the Spirit that supplies counsel; it is the same spirit but a different operation that produces action.
In the world of business and entrepreneurship, ideas (similar to counsel) don't carry as much weight as execution (which requires might).
You can know so much but accomplish so little because the Spirit of might is not in expression.
It takes both the information of the spirit (Counsel) and the empowerment of the Spirit (Might) to execute.
Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding.
Ezekiel 2:2 And the spirit entered into me when he spoke unto me,and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spoke unto me.
The same Holy Spirit that provides information will supply the power of God to act.
Scripture says: He works in us both to will and to do according to his pleasure. It is by the workings of the Spirit of might that you can do all things.
In the book of Ezekiel, it says, the Spirit entered me and stood me on my feet. So, the Holy Ghost can speak to you and also set you on your feet to accomplish the things that He has spoken to you.
It is by the Spirit of Might that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Whether there's an assignment or project in your heart and you haven't started, or it is an instruction that needs execution, the Spirit of might needs to brood over you so you can get things done.
The Spirit of counsel working in and with you, together with the Spirit of Might, will be explosive!
Anchor: I bring it to full expression inside of me, the Spirit of Might. I carry out every counsel of God to my Spirit.
Thoughts for Meditation: The Spirit of counsel and might.
